The 28th, 29th and 30th of July saw the 3rd edition of the Pandathlon in Alpe d’Huez organized by the WWF Foundation. The Tawking Pandas – aka a team from our Lille office – were once again taking part in this gathering and orientation race after an honorable performance in the first two editions.
More than ever, the goal of Pandathlon is to raise funds to help the Lynx, an emblematic animal of the region and unfortunately endangered today. Only a hundred are still present in France whereas it would take double to judge the population viable.
This year, the 84 participating teams raised more than 90,000 € to help the Lynx, which allows the WWF Foundation to launch a major action plan with the French government. We are very proud of Claire, Juliette and Thomas who, for the lynx, climbed 750m of elevation gain, descended a zipline from a mountain flank, sled on rail and recovered one third of the beacons scattered on the 11 km² of playground.
