5 months to transform field marketing: the FieldIQ™ story

"We developed in five months an application for more than 1,000, 1,500 people."

When Maxime, Tawkr's Data & Projects Manager, sums up FieldIQ™ in one sentence, what strikes first is the scale. Not an application for a pilot team of twenty.

An application that all Tawkr field experts — in France, Belgium, the UK and the US — had to use. From one day to the next.

In five months.

September — a prototype that convinces everyone

The story starts in September. Tawkr and Luminos — the Romania-based app development studio, Tawkr's partner for six or seven years — work on a first FieldIQ™ prototype.

"It's Luminos, an app development company based in Romania. We've been working with them for almost six or seven years."

The September prototype convinces everyone. Which also means the project is officially launched — with an immediate constraint: the app must launch at the start of February. There's a major event planned. The deadline is non-negotiable.

The sprint begins.

The February deadline — a five-month sprint

"We absolutely had to get the app out by early February because there was a big event planned. So it was really full sprint mode."

Five months to develop, test and deploy a large-scale field application. Not a comfortable timeline. But one that makes sense — and says something about how Tawkr and Luminos work together.

"The advantage is that Luminos is a company we've worked with for a long time — we trust them."

This trust, built over years of collaboration, is what makes the sprint possible. No time lost building a working relationship. No friction on process. A project team that knows how to function together — and gets to work.

December — two days in Romania at -10°

Halfway through the sprint, a pivotal moment. Maxime flies to Romania with two other Tawkr team members to finalise the prototype.

"There was a pivotal point where I went with two other people from Tawkr to Romania, for two days, in the middle of December, -10 degrees, the plane at 4am. It was a real pleasure."

Around the table: Maxime, Justine and Noé from Tawkr. People from the UK. The Luminos teams. Two days of intensive work sessions to agree on the final visual — what we want, what we can actually deliver — with an app launching two months later.

The FR/BE adaptation — houses and apartments

A detail that illustrates the reality of field development: the initial version of FieldIQ™ had been designed for the UK market.

"The app was planned only to track houses, because in the UK they only work on houses. We, in fact, work on both houses and apartments."

These cultural and business specificities between markets — housing type, field practices, local realities — had to be integrated into the app. This adaptation work is what makes FieldIQ™ genuinely usable on the French and Belgian field, rather than just transposed from one market to another.

The result — an app for 1,000+ users

"We developed in five months an app for more than 1,000, 1,500 people. We have around 500 field experts in France, about 200 in Belgium, and roughly the same in the UK and US."

A real application. Not a prototype. Not a tool for a pilot team. An application that all field experts had to use — from one day to the next — to capture field data, track their performance and manage their campaigns.

That's the result of the sprint.

Conclusion

Five months. A non-negotiable deadline. An international team. A trip to -10° in December. And the result: an app that 1,000 people are using in the field, overnight.

This is the story of FieldIQ™ — not that of some abstract technological ambition, but of a project built under pressure, with trusted partners, to address a concrete reality on the ground.

How was FieldIQ™ developed?

FieldIQ™ was developed by Luminos (Romania) in collaboration with Tawkr teams over five months — September to early February — in full sprint mode, with an international project team including Maxime, Justine and Noé from Tawkr, UK teams and Luminos.

Luminos is an app development studio based in Romania. Tawkr has worked with them for six to seven years. This long-term relationship is what made the FieldIQ™ development sprint possible — the trust was already built.

A major event was planned for early February — the deadline was non-negotiable. This constraint structured the five-month sprint.

The initial version was designed for the UK market, where field experts only work on houses. In France and Belgium, campaigns cover both houses and apartments. This required adaptation before deployment on French and Belgian markets.

FieldIQ™ was developed for 1,000 to 1,500 users — around 500 field experts in France, 200 in Belgium, and equivalent teams in the UK and US.
